Percy Jackson and the Olympians Empty
PostSubject: Percy Jackson and the Olympians   Percy Jackson and the Olympians Icon_minitimeThu Dec 23, 2010 6:21 pm

The PJO series has been my favorite since I picked up a copy of the Sea of Monsters years ago. I actually read the Sea of Monster before the Lightening Thief so for a short while I wondered what the heck was going on. Now its my favorite thing to read if I just need a book for when we're traveling, for reading till I fall asleep, and tons of other scenarios. I would like to know if anyone would not recommend the series because I love them.

I too adore PJO. I pciked up the Lightning Thief after watching the movie, at which time I promptly realised they completely screwed it up.

The books, however, are magical. Riordan's tone and humour is so far from the books that I am used to, it's really refreshing. Within each book, he cleverly incorporates Greek muthology to a level where you are learning tonnes without realising it Wink

Percy is one of my favourite characters in all the books i've ever read; he's just so funny and clueless!

Yesterday I picked up 'The Demigod Files', a small book Riordan wrote before the release of the Last Olympian. Anyone read it? I personally loved the interviews, and the story of the underworld.

Yeah, the underworld bit was cool.

I thought the movie was ok as its own story, but it's completely different to the book if you know what I mean...

First I must do some bashing.

While I have read the PJO books I found them to predicable, and rather horrible with grammar for a published book. I must say the plot was well lined though.

Second, my job
Others, besides us well educated people who love books. Might want to know what happens in the first book, or an idea about the book so they might have some idea about whether or not they want to read it.
